Baby Food Puree

Servings | oz.

(for babies 4-6 months)

Tip:

These recipes all follow a similar set of instructions that require cooking until soft (where necessary), and blending with reserved cooking liquid until puree reaches desired consistency. You may experiment with other produce including sweet potatoes, green beans, beets, or pears!

Directions

Carrot:

1 pound of carrots, peeled, washed & sliced. Steam in boiling water until very soft, about 20 minutes, reserving liquid. Place carrots in blender and combine with reserved liquid 1 Tbsp at a time, until desired consistency.

Green Pea:

16 ounces of frozen green peas. Steam in boiling water until soft, about 6 minutes, reserving liquid. Place peas in blender and combine with reserved liquid 1 Tbsp at a time, until desired consistency.

Butternut Squash:

½ butternut squash, roasted until soft. Place squash in blender with formula, water, or breast milk and blend until desired consistency.

Avocado or Banana:

Blend ½ avocado or full banana with 1 Tbsp warmed formula, water, or breast milk until desired consistency.

Storage Tips

Refrigerator:

Store covered, in single serving portions up to 2 days.

Freezer:

Portion in ice cube trays to freeze. Remove cubes once frozen and place in airtight, sealed packaging up to 3 months. Make sure to label and date.
